As August comes to a close and September rolls into town, we here in Atlanta are brimming with excitement. After a phenomenal last few home games and plenty of intense action on the road, the Dirty South Derby Girls are polishing their training in anticipation of playoff weekend. Extra practices, guest jammers and new levels of cross training have all kept our charter pretty busy, so in case you haven’t heard, I’m here to fill you in on the details of watching your favorite ladies in red and baby blue dominate in the South.
This year, the potential places that DSDG could have been sent to for playoffs were spread all over the continent (with two possibilities in Canada)! We are INCREDIBLY lucky to have gotten placed in our own region, just a short ride over to Columbia! This helps the league in two big ways. Not only do we see an incredible savings when it comes to travel and lodging, but it means we can have YOU GUYS in the stands, screaming for/with us! Having a potential cheering section is a huge factor in why we got placed in South Carolina, so mark your calendars! DSDG enters the seeding at #16 and plays the #19 Crime City Rollers (from Sweden) at 6pm on Friday evening. How far will we go? BE THERE and find out for yourselves! There will be a whole group of Atlanta fans there, so make sure you find them!
