You’ve seen them at our games. You may have even seen some of their opening day performances. Take a minute to get to know Atlanta’s very own skaters, chosen to represent their countries at the Roller Derby World Cup!
Name: Revelyn Sin #7, skating under gov’t name, Regis
RDWC team chosen for: Team West Indies
How long have you been skating: 5 years
What did you do/how did you react when you found out you were chosen: Pretty stoked. I was in the middle of volunteering with a non for profit I’m pretty passionate about (Black Girls Code), and I glimpse at my phone to see the email notification. With some intense scheming I scanned for the words ‘Congratulations’, immediately had a jack skellington smile on my face for the rest of the day.
What do you most look forward to at the event: The level of competition and a tournament of this scale would be a first in my derby career. Plus, it’s my first time heading to Europe, so I’m pretty excited about that too.
Who do you most look forward to playing: Honestly any team that we go up against is quite exciting in its own right. I intend to take my first exposure to international competition as a learning experience.
When can we see you: TWI first game against Team Sweden is at 8:30AM EST and then against Team Norway at 1:30PM EST, on Track 2, Thursday February 1st. Show your girl some luv!
Anything else you’d like to add (brag, shout out, touching story, whatever!): I’m so grateful for the support I’ve been receiving from my league mates . I’m so elated for the opportunity that I’m probably going to be a giggling-smiling-mess, you’ve been warned.

RDWC team chosen for: Head Coach, Team Iceland
How long have you been skating: 8-ish years / Training and coaching 5-ish years
What did you do/how did you react when you found out you were chosen:
VERY excited!!!
It’s a huge honor to coach this team – they are hardworking, talented and team-minded. It’s a coach’s dream!
What do you most look forward to at the event:
Watching the team’s hard work pay off. They have earned their spots on this team.
Who do you most look forward to playing:
Team Indigenous- they have a rockstar line up and it will be a great test to our preparation and mental toughness.
When can we see you:
On Day One you can see me out on the track winning reviews, kicking ass and taking names.
Game 1: Team Iceland vs. Team Costa Rica
Game 2: Team Iceland vs Team Indigenous
Anything else you’d like to add (brag, shout out, touching story, whatever!):
The team logo is their most famous troll, Grílla, who eats bad children at Christmas time and also her ex-husbands who bored her. In tribute to her, many of us have not shaved our armpits to bring out our “inner skessa” (inner trolls).
Be careful if any of them offer you candy or “An Icelandic treat” – I promise you it will have some combination of black licorice, chocolate and/or dried fish.
Team Iceland is bringing more fans than skaters, so bet on this dark horse to win the afterparty.
