Atlanta’s two undefeated teams came together on Saturday in one of the best, hardest-fought home games we’ve seen this season. The last time the Shocks met the Stix in the 2012 season-ending grudge match, the Shocks pulled out a narrow win. The Stix have been on fire this season, and came to this bout hot off a resounding win over the Sake Tuyas last month. From the beginning the score stayed low, and the lead changed multiple times in the first twenty minutes of play. At the half, the Shocks led the Stix by 6 points — basically a tie game.
With strong, smart jamming from the likes of Jammunition and Jean-Juke Picard, the Shocks slowly started to pull ahead. The Stix wall never wavered though, and Axtual Malice, Slamborghini, Rudy Huxtabrawl and company made the Shock jammers work for every point. The legendary Shocks wall held strong, and even the likes of Demi Gore and Nora Gretz had a hard time getting through. It was a defensive game, through and through, with the Shocks finally coming out on top. The ladies in green are now the only undefeated home team in the ATL. Shock you!
Players of the game were Tart Breaker (jammer) and Nattie Long Legs (blocker) for the Toxic Shocks, and Bruze Orman (jammer) and Rudy Huxtabrawl (blocker) for the Stix.
